Panthers Win 2012 Cup
Bristol Panthers won their first piece of silverware since their re-formation by winning the 4th annual Bristol Challenge Cup. On a rainy february saturday afternoon at Filton Goals the Panthers overcame the damp conditions to triumph in a rematch of the 2011 final. The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the final but were wary following their capitulation last time around and eventually ran out 5-2 winners.
The Panthers 1st team had a scare on the way to the final going 2-0 down to the Panthers 2nd team before eventually winning 6-4. Special mention must go to Trowbridge Tigers 2 who finished their group unbeaten scoring 28 goals and only conceding 6.
Wolverhampton Wanderers who meet the Panthers in a friendly next week will be wandering what might have been following their wins against eventual finalists Cardiff Dragons 1 and a 7-1 victory in their playoff match.
